Cold Electric was founded in 2005. Our founder, Dr. Margaret Wang, dedicated herself to realizing the vision of Y.C. Wang, committing the company to long-term R&D in battery technology from day one. Our chairwoman made a deliberate choice early on: Cold Electric would never source battery cells from an outside supplier. She believed safety could not be contracted out — the only way to build a truly nonflammable battery was to build it yourself, and to refuse to ship until that standard was met without compromise.
That commitment produced what Cold Electric is today: a company that owns every layer of its technology stack, from proprietary LFP cell chemistry to finished systems, with BMS and EMS software developed entirely inhouse. Our mission: empower individuals and industries to generate, store, and trade clean energy — anywhere, anytime, using the world's safest, fire-retardant battery technology.
